Caramel cream cheese frosting is a great topping and filling to use in your baking. It has a rich, creamy, and tangy flavour, combining the sweet, buttery notes of caramel with the smooth, slightly tart taste of cream cheese. Beyond its delicious taste, it's also versatile, complementing a wide range of cakes and pastries.
Ingredients
200g cream cheese
250g mascarpone
150g caramel
Serves: Enough to sandwich and lightly frost two 20cm sponges
Preparation time: 5-10mins
Method
Whisk all the ingredients for the icing together to get a soft spreadable consistency. Use it to sandwich and frost your cakes.
As it is mostly cheese based, make sure to keep your frosting and any cake you use it to decorate in the fridge.
